SteinMusic Ametrin 1 Composite Headshell

The SteinMusic Ametrin 1 Composite Headshell is a headshell in five-layer sandwich construction made from three materials. Designed to match the housing of the Aventurin 6 MC, it can still be used with all common cartridges. It is a visual and technical complement to the Aventurin 6 MC and at the same time a versatile headshell for vinyl lovers.

Five-layer sandwich construction

The middle layer of the headshell is made of pear wood, framed by carbon plates that provide high stiffness. Rosewood forms the outer layer and adds visual warmth and tonal harmony. The entire headshell is sealed with SteinMusic Maestro lacquer, which both protects and refines the sound.

Precise weight for fine tuning

The headshell weighs 5.7 grams without the finger lift. Two finger lift versions are available:

• Nickel-plated brass (total weight: 8.3 g)
• Aircraft aluminium (total weight: 7.2 g)

This lets you adapt the headshell flexibly to different tonearms and cartridges.

Effect on the sound

In listening tests, the Ametrin 1 Composite headshell shows what a carefully chosen combination of materials can achieve. Helmut Hack writes in his review in Fidelity № 41 | 01/2019 (German):
