More foundation, the same sound

With the Bass Extension, your Bobby S reaches down to 34 Hz instead of 45 Hz. A double bass gains depth, an organ gains space. Voices and treble stay as clear and calm as you know them from the Bobby S.

The transition is barely audible, because the Bass Extension uses the same drivers as the Bobby S. The tonal character stays the same from the bass to the treble.

Bass module and stand in one

The Bobby S stands on the Bass Extension, its walnut feet resting in recesses lined with solid mahogany. Both cabinets remain separate and still work as one. The Bass Extension has exactly the height that brings the horn to ear level, so no stand is needed.

The same drivers as in the Bobby S

Each Bass Extension holds two 15 cm drivers with natural fibre cones, carbon coating and SteinMusic Maestro lacquer, the same as in the Bobby S. The passive crossover divides at 80 Hz and is matched to the Bobby S. The loudspeaker sounds all of a piece.

Bass without damping material

Like the Bobby S, the Bass Extension is wider at the back than at the front, and the side walls are additionally stiffened with a brace. The reflex port sits at the bottom front, its diameter widening gradually along its length. The bass stays well defined, without damping material that takes energy from the music.

Easy to integrate

The Bass Extension needs no switches of its own. It follows the “Level” and “Slope” settings on the Bobby S. You adapt the bass to your room with the supplied foam plugs in one or both reflex ports. Separate terminals allow bi- or tri-wiring and bi-amping.

What it needs

Placement

As the Bobby M, the loudspeaker stands directly on the floor. A good starting point is around 2.5 m between the loudspeakers and 3 m to the listening position. A little less toe-in often opens up the stage.

Amplifier

As the Bobby M, the loudspeaker has 4 Ω and appreciates an amplifier with some power. Valve or transistor is a matter of your taste.

Room

For medium to larger rooms. The more space the bass has, the clearer its contour. For very large rooms we recommend the Bobby L with a second Bass Extension.

Delivery and returns

We build your loudspeakers in Mülheim an der Ruhr and ship them securely packed. In standard colours they reach you in around 10 working days, in the colour of your choice in three to four weeks. We are happy to help you with placement and setup by phone.

You have 30 days to return them. Custom finishes in a colour of your choice are excluded.
